One-Stop Inspection Solution: Hardware + Software Integration
Inspection Objective:
Verify symmetry between the left and right mold cavities and the main drive shaft of the casting machine.
Inspection Procedure:
Step 1: Data Acquisition
- Probe the left Plane 1, Bottom Plane 2, Right Plane 3, and Inner Circle 4 using the PMT ALPHA measuring arm with PMT INSPECT.
- Set Plane 1 as datum A, evaluate parallelism with Plane 3 and perpendicularity with Plane 2.
- Select Plane 1, 2, and 3; flatness is automatically calculated.
Step 2: Construct Mid-Plane and Line
- In PMT INSPECT, use “Construct-By Bisection” on Plane 1 and Plane 3 to create Mid-Plane 4.
- Use “Construct-By Intersection of Two Planes” on Plane 2 and Mid-Plane 4 to create Line 1.
Step 3: Evaluate Symmetry
- Establish a coordinate system using Plane 2 and Line 1.
- Set the nominal Y-value of Inner Circle 1 to 0 with a ±0.05 mm tolerance.
- All measured features fall within tolerance, confirming cavity symmetry.
Step 4: Reporting and Traceability
- Generate inspection data and customized reports directly in PMT INSPECT.
- Archive data for full traceability.
